1.0 LATAR BELAKANG

1.1 Telekom Malaysia telah menawarkan perkhidmatan tambahan nilai kepada perkhidmatan Internet yang dikenali sebagai perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address pada 5 September 2001. Fixed IP Address ini ditawarkan melalui perkhidmatan TMnet. Ia terbuka kepada pelanggan-pelanggan perkhidmatan TMnet yang mempunyai talian ISDN di bawah kategori organisasi sahaja.

1.2 Semua pelanggan-pelanggan TMnet ISDN yang baru dan sediada boleh memperolehi perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address di HOI sahaja. Pelanggan boleh mendapatkan penerangan dan pendaftaran di Kedai Telekom.

 

2.0 TARIF FIXED IP ADDRESS YANG DITAWARKAN UNTUK AKAUN TMnet ISDN

2.1 Yuran pendaftaran bagi setiap perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address yang dipohon oleh pelanggan baru akaun TMnet atau pelanggan yang sudah mempunyai akaun TMnet, adalah seperti di bawah untuk tempoh 12 bulan dari tarikh pelanggan memperolehi perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address. Caj bagi pelanggan perkhidmatan TMnet ISDN Fixed IP akan dikeluarkan di dalam bil TMnet pelanggan.

2.2 Jika pelanggan tidak mengeluarkan sebarang arahan pembatalan perkhidmatan, langganan akan diteruskan dengan tambahan yuran bagi tempoh 12 bulan seterusnya yang akan dikenakan di dalam bil. Tetapi, jika pelanggan memberi arahan untuk menamatkan langganan selepas 12 bulan pertama, perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address akan dibatalkan dan tiada caj seterusya dikenakan.

2.3 Setelah setahun perkhidmatan, perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address bolehlah diperbaharui untuk tempoh setahun yang seterusnya dengan caj yang ditetapkan.

2.4 Tarif-tarif yang tersebut di atas adalah sah dan tertakluk kepada sebarang perubahan yang akan diberitahu kelak oleh pihak Telekom Malaysia.

 

3.0 PROSES PERMOHONAN DAN PENDAFTARAN BAGI PERKHIDMATAN FIXED IP ADDRESS

3.1 Bagi permohonan perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address daripada pelanggan-pelanggan TMnet ISDN yang sediada dan baru, perlu diperolehi di HOI dengan menggunakan borang Perkhidmatan TMnet Fixed IP Address.

3.2 Pelanggan-pelanggan baru yang ingin mendaftar untuk akaun TMnet ISDN bagi kategori organisasi, akan diberitahu oleh pegawai pendaftaran mengenai perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address. Pelanggan yang berhasrat untuk memperolehi perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address akan diminta melengkapkan borang Perkhidmatan TMnet Fixed IP Address yang disertakan bersama borang pendaftaran TMnet.

3.3 Setelah memiliki akses Internet melalui akaun TMnet yang baru, pelanggan boleh menggunakan perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address.

4.0 PERJANJIAN

Tempoh perjanjian adalah selama 12 bulan mulai dari tarikh perkhidmatan ditawarkan, kemudian disambung kepada 12 bulan seterusnya sekiranya tiada arahan penamatan perkhidmatan daripada pelanggan. Perjanjian untuk tempoh seterusnya adalah bagi setiap tahun-tahun berikutnya.

5.0 PEMBAHARUAN

5.1 Notis pembaharuan melalui e-mail akan diberi kepada pelanggan setelah tempoh 12 bulan yang pertama. Perkhidmatan Fixed IP Address akan disambung secara automatik ke 12 bulan seterusnya sekiranya tiada notis pembatalan diterima dari pelanggan.

The IP address supplied by TMnet when connections are made to the TMNET ISDN service is not fixed, it will change for each connection to the service. This is the same as for standard dial-up connections to TMnet's own access points.

Many Internet service providers limit the number of fixed IP addresses they allocate, and economize on the remaining number of IP addresses they possess by temporarily assigning an IP address to a requesting Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) computer from a pool of IP addresses. The temporary IP address is called a dynamic IP address. A fixed IP is a number (in the form of a dotted quad) that is assigned to a computer by an Internet Service Provider (ISP) such as TMnet to be its permanent address on the Internet.

Advantage of a Fixed IP address

TMnet offers a Fixed IP Address service for TMNET ISDN Organization users. The service can be used for those wanting to raise the level security of communication between offices using VPN, etc. It also makes it easier to operate servers for one, as you can happily assign a domain name to it, and hand out business cards listing the name, without finding it has changed the next day.

Members who are eligible to use the service

TMnet ISDN customer whose subscribe under Government,Business,Corporate,MSC or NGO category.The service is available nationwide.

One global IP address will be assigned to one Login ID, i.e.only one global IPaddress can be assigned to one Login ID.

Your TMnet Account will automatically be charged the current fee on the date that you sign up for the Service. Your TMnet Account will also automatically be charged the then-current fee for that Service at the commencement of each renewal year.The Service is provided on a year-to-year basis commencing on the date that you sign up for the Service. The Service will automatically be renewed on the anniversary of that sign-up date each year.If you choose to cancel the Service,you are responsible to inform HOI in writing by fax or mail at least one month before the end of commencement of each renewal year.In the event that the customer terminates the service at any time before the end of the yearly period, the customer shall be liable to pay to TM the full fees for the service for the said respective year.All fees are non-refundable.

Notes:

1. The full yearl charge will apply in the year of cancellation.

2. Only one Fixed IP address can be applied for with one Login ID.

3. TMnet monthly pricing plan and charges also apply.

• Point of special note

. The IP address assigned will be arbitrarily assigned by TMnet. Members may not change the assigned IP address, however, there may be circumstances in which TMnet may need to chage it. In such cases, TMnet will contact the member at least two weeks in advance.

.Should it be found that a member"s IP address had been involved in the sending of spam, in an attack on another computer,or other prohibited behaviors, the member's fixed IP address service will be suspended without notice.

.Troubleshooting support for customer router,server or system will not be provided. TMnet is only responsible to make the customer get the same IP address every time connections are made to the TMnet ISDN network.

. IP filtering is not provided as part the service. Users should use their own equipment to do this.

How to connect to TMNET ISDN with a fixed IP address ?

Members who have applied for the TMNET ISDN service and the Fixed IP address option will need to connect with a special User name, as specified below. will the member's computer be automatically assigned the same fixed IP address with each connection. Connections made to TMNET ISDN without the special user name will have a dymanic IP adress assigned.

1. The suffix @fixed are only required for Fixed IP option connections to TMNET ISDN service, it is not be needed for TMnet's 1515 service, POP email, FTP, etc.

1. What is the Fixed IP service?

It is a service that assigns a member's computer a specific global IP address from the TMnet ISDN network. With TMnet's usual service, a different global IP address is assigned dynamically with every connection.

2. What can the Fixed IP service be used for?

It can be used for server hosting or raising the security of communication between offices using VPN, etc.

3. Can non- TMNET ISDN users use the service?

This service is only applicable to TMNET ISDN users.

4. How many fixed IP addresses are assigned?

Only one global IP address is assigned to one login ID

5. What about security of this service?

There is no necessity for setting the IP address. When your computer connects to the TMNET ISDN service, the same IP address will always be assigned to it automatically by our system.

6. Where does the IP address get set?

7. Is it necessary to change the setup of email, FTP, NetNews, etc?

There is no necessity to change the settings. The present settings can be used.

8. Can the value of the assigned IP address be changed?

A fixed IP address will be assigned arbitrarily from the list of IP addresses which TMnet manages.

9. Can a currently owned IP address be used with this service?

No. Only the IP address that is arbitrarily assigned by TMnet may be used.

10. Is the establishment of a server for the service possible?

It is possible, but we will not support the establishment of your server, router and will not be able to assist in troubleshooting problems. We only assign the Fixed IP Address associated with the Login ID so that you will always get the same IP Address every time you logon to the Internet.

11. Is there any special setting required for connection?

Yes. You are required to suffix your Login ID with "@ fixed." as in this example.

The TMnet password associated with the Login ID is, of course, required. If the suffix "@ fixed." is not used, a connection will be established but an IP address will be assigned dynamically.

12. Is it possible to change the assigned IP address?

No. However, there may be circumstances in which TMnet may need to change it.In such cases, TMnet will contact the member at least two weeks in advance.

13. If I move to another location, what happens to the IP address?

If moving to another location in the same area (e. g.: Ampang to Cheras ), the same fixed IP address can be used as is. If moving out of the area you are currently using the fixed IP address (e. g.: Putrajaya to Shah Alam), the same IP address cannot be used. You have to inform HOI by filling up the application to change the service location in advance before you need to change your service location.

14. If the fixed IP address I have been assigned is attacked, can I get it changed?

Sorry, no such change is possible

Please be informed that we have launch TM Net 1525 Back Up service starting
2nd September 2002.

1.0 TM Net 1525 Back Up

Many companies are realizing the cost-savings and enhanced performance that
TM Net Direct services can provide. However, some companies need redundancy
and fail-over features for their network connections that haven't been
readily available with high availability connections. TM Net has developed
these services to respond to those needs.

For many companies, the Internet has become an indispensable tool.
Unfortunately, network disruptions occur due to hardware failure, telecom
company outages, and natural disasters. With proper design and
implementation, outages should be a very infrequent occurrence, but for
companies who consider their Internet access mission critical, they should
consider purchasing a back up service. TM Net 1525 Backup Service is the
perfect solution. It is cost effective and has enough through put capacity
to ensure that the most critical applications, such as email, can be used
without major disruption.

TM Net 1525 Backup Service includes an ISDN access package and you need to
have a router with ISDN fail-over capabilities. The router will continuously
monitor the health of your current TM Net Direct connection. If a failure is
ever detected, the router will activate the ISDN connection and route all
traffic out the ISDN link until primary connectivity is restored. This
process is completely seamless and without any user intervention. It allows
you to carry on working despites having problem with TM Net Direct
connection. This enables you to fully exploit the power of your TM Net
DIRECT connection without the worry of losing connectivity at critical
times.

2.0 Automatic 1525 Backup - Service Details:

2.1 Utilizes any current TM Net Direct service as the primary connection.
2.2 Utilizes Dial-Up 1525 as the backup connection

2.3 Yearly subscription fee is RM 1000.00.
2.4 RM 90.00 of TM Net dial-up 1525 usage per month is included with the
package. Additional charges will apply if more than RM 90.00 is used. The
unused amount cannot be carry forward.

2.5 You will be required to purchase an ISDN BRI line from Telekom Malaysia
to support this configuration (TM charges a monthly rental fee of RM60 for
the BRI service. Additional usage and subscription charges may apply).

2.6 You may use your existing ISDN BRI line

2.7 TM Net will perform all network configuration, setup, and installation
at TM Net side. Customer will perform network configuration at their router
and their internal network Sample configuration is provided.

2.8 This service will automatically re-route the IP space assigned to you by

TM Net through the DIRECT or ISDN connection depending on which of the two
connections is "live".

2.9 Can be used with fully routable ISDN Fixed IP Address

tmnet hotspot is a wireless broadband Internet access at selected public places which could be located at shopping malls, coffee shops, eating outlets, convention centers, hotels and many more.

Now while hanging out at any tmnet hotspot, you can check your e-mail or browse the Internet and you can even access your company’s corporate network using your laptop, PDA or tablet PC equipped with a 802.11b Wireless LAN card.

Technology

tmnet hotspot is based on the IEEE802.11b technology, better known as Wi-Fi. IEEE802.11b is an international standard from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for wireless local area networks that operate up to 11Mbps. A fixed line service with prepaid advantage using Hotline facilities running on Ring Ring Card Platform
Customers will be provided with a TMHome Account Number which is activated via the server, thus connecting to the PSTN Network.
Subscribe for the service is by purchasing the “Starter Pack” at RM100 (Inclusive of RM50 Talk Time)
Lets you make calls by just lifting the handset without entering any PIN or Inserting a Card.
No Monthly bills unless for “Collect Call” charges via International (Malaysia Direct) or local telephonist.
Reloadable by using a normal Ring Ring Card available at RM20, RM50 and RM100.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CUSTOMERS

Shelf Life of the Starter Pack is 12 months.
Any unused balanced will be forfeited.
Starter Pack Talk Time Value is inclusive of 5% tax.

What is powerSurf?

PowerSurf is premium value added service to accelerate TMnet 56kbps 1515 prepaid card dial up networking service. It provides faster internet web surfing up to 3X faster than normal.
It is not a Streamyx DSL Broadband replacement but it is a excellent alternative for users who cannot get broadband or afford broadband.

Can I use this service on my ISDN, Streamyx broadband, digital lease lines, T1 connections?

Yes, you can but you have to contact TMnet whether they have enabled the service for other types of access services.

I have installed the POWERSURF Client Software but it does not seem to work as I get an error message in my web browser.

You have to make sure the POWERSURF Client icon is flashing GREEN for it to work or else it is still disabled. Resolve this by Enabling the software. (click the POWERSURF icon on the lower right hand corner of your monitor and enable it.)

Automatically changed the proxy settings of my dial up setting dialog box ?

Make sure that the proxy settings is pointing to the correct TMnet dial up account you are currently using as sometimes you may have a few dial up accounts and you may be using the wrong one. The Settings for each dial up configuration should be automatically set to localhost port 1000 to work. Or else it is not using the POWERSURF accelerator

setting--->click user proxy server -->click Advanced-->localhosat-port 1000

What are the benefits you enjoy?

I have followed all the setting changes but it still does not work.

I don’t seem to see any difference in speed using my office PC which is networked.

I have just installed an Anti-Virus software in my machine to protect my PC from viruses and worms but after installing it the POWERSURF software does not seem to work.

I have downloaded Download Accelerator Plus for accelerated downloading speeds but does not seem to download properly?

Why do I see admin LOGIN Error displayed on my screen?

Ask the user to go to DOS mode using type RUN > CMD and type PING 202.71.100.75 to see if they can access the Admin server.
If they cannot ping the AAA server while online using tmnet dial up account then the user is out of tmnets assigned IP range because powerSurf Firewall system to block out users which are out of range.

The Login process was OK but the user is still not able to surf on the web browser. Why?

Please PING the VIPS servers at 202.71.100.76 and 202.71.100.77 using the a TMnet dial up account to make sure that the servers are active and detectable by the users machine

How do I configure my browser?
Answer: You DO NOT need to configure your browser if you are using Internet Explorer 5.0 or above. For other browsers like Netscape, Opera or pre-IE version 5.0 please refer to section Browser Configuration Guide.

Will powerSurf start when I connect to tmnet 1515?
Answer: Yes. If you subscribe to the powerSurf service, your powerSurf client program on your PC will automatically start when you dial-up via tmnet 1515. As soon as you disconnect from tmnet 1515 your powerSurf client will stop automatically.

What are the factors that could affect my web-surfing speed?
Answer: These are some of the factors that may affect your speed when you use powerSurf: a. Type of connection - the speed improvement is relative to your existing modem speed!b. Peak/off peak time - Internet traffic may fluctuate throughout the day. c. The speed to a particular website may be affected when there are a lot of people accessing it at the same time, therefore the website becomes congested and is unable to handle so many users.d. Status of Destination Server - e.g. if the remote server is down then powerSurf may not be able to reach the site

What are the types of content that are accelerated by powerSurf?
Answer: powerSurf speeds up most of the HTTP based web content like HTML, Javascripts, Flash, GIF, animation, Jpeg etc. It does not speed up other protocols like FTP downloads (e.g. EXE, MP3, Mpeg), POP based e-mail, SSL and secured transactions.

How do I continue using the service?
Answer: You may purchase a reload card or reload CD for the tmnet prepaid CD which offer the powerSurf service

There are now more alternative access numbers available than just dialing
1515, which applies to both prepaid and postpaid subscribers. However,
kindly do take note that the call charges for this service reflect on the
type of call, local or STD, depending on the call distance. Thus, please
contact your telephone company to verify if the access number of your choice
is a local or STD call. TM Net will not be responsible for any long distance
charges incurred as a result of you dialing the listed numbers below.
Nonetheless, while the 1.5 sen per minute for call charges does not apply
when dialing the 8 digit number, the tmnet Internet access rate still

One-time registration (RM50.00), installation charges (RM75.00) and monthly flat rate fee of RM99 for unlimited usage. The registration and installation charges will appear on the 1st bill.

8) Where do I pay my Tmnet Streamyx Wireless bill?

You can pay your bill at the Clickers, the nearest Kedai Telekom or any TMnet payment outlet.

Streamyx uses copper wires to connect you to the Internet but Streamyx Wireless uses wireless equipment installed on your rooftop to connect you to the Internet.

For Windows OS computers, you need to have a PC with minimum Pentium processor and 64MB RAM. Windows 95(Windows 98 is preferred) or, Windows XP or Windows NT operating system, 2.1GB Hard Disk (20MB of free hard disk space and USB port).

12) Do I need a special modem?

No. TM Net Sdn Bhd will provide the equipments for Streamyx Wireless customers. Only equipment supplied by TM Net Sdn Bhd will work with Tmnet Streamyx Wireless service.
Note: Upon termination of Tmnet Streamyx Wireless, customers have to return the provided equipment to TM Net Sdn Bhd. TM Net Sdn Bhd will impose charges for unreturned equipments.

CASO. Selain daripada itu juga pelanggan boleh mendapatkan khidmat
nasihat bagi konfigurasi (configuration) dan penyelesaian pembaikan
komputer(troubleshooting).

Namun untuk pembiayaan bil di kaunter masih belum boleh dibuat di CASO
buat masa ini. Sebarang perubahan akan diberitahu kelak.
Pelanggan juga boleh mencuba dan merasai pengalaman mereka sendiri apabila
melayari internet melalui perkhidmatan tmnet streamyx dan hotsot yang
disediakan di sini. Sebagai langkah pertama, TM Net telah membuka CASO di
Sri Petaling pada 29 Mac yang lalu. Kini dengan pembukaan cawangan yang
kedua di USJ, Subang Jaya, pelanggan mempunyai lebih banyak alternatif
untuk mendapat produk dan perkhidmatan TM Net.

TMNET SERVICE CONTRACTOR PROGRAM

PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

• To troubleshoot problems related to PC hardware/software that affects Internet access
• To have access to a list of contractors to consult on Internet related CPE
• To reduce uninterrupted access to Internet due to PC faults

Scope of Works

• Adding and configuring the hardware (e.g. NIC card, computer or modem) and software to ensure compatibility with the dial-up software to access tmnet services
• Troubleshooting, installing and reconfiguring the hardware (e.g. NIC cards, computer or modem) and software to ensure compatibility with the dial-up software to access tmnet services.
• Installing the Internet browser and assisting in setting up user accounts/passwords, network setting to access tmnet services.
