ISDN

1515 ERROR MESSAGE/SOLUTION

Error: The computer that you are dialing cannot establish the dial up network connection. Check your password and try again

Solution
Check the user name and password . Make sure all in lower case and correctly. (do manual login)
If password okay check the DNS configuration-remove TCP/IP add again

Error: Dial up networking could not negotiate a compatible set of network protocol that you specified in the control panel. Check your network configuration and try again.

Solution:
Check your TCP/IP setting
TCP/IP corrupted. Remove and reinstall again. Make sure to enable the DNS.
Try to delete the dialer inside the networking and try to create a new dialer. Make sure TCP/IP had been set up properly.

Error: Netscape was unable to create a network socket connection. There maybe insufficient system resources or the network maybe down

Solution:
Check the Control Panel, Network, TCP/IP or dial up adapter not installed.
Communication component is not install. Reinstall communication fail.

Error: Cannot open the internet site (all website).

Solution:
Try to check the DNS configuration on the TCP/IP setting and try to connect again
Try to use ip address for example TMnet website http://www.tm.net.my (fail) please use ip http://202.188.245.17
Check under option inside Internet Explorer or Netscape , make sure that the address is correct, Click the use default button and apply press OK.

Error: Can open using another ISP account example (jaring) but for TMnet website cannot.

Solution:
Please access same address whether can loading or not .
If same result please refer to Supervisor.

Error: Dial up networking not install

Solution:
Reinstall the dail up networking
--To install network:control panel,add/remove program.
--Go to windows set up,
--Highlight communication,insert CD win and click OK
After Install it you must restart the computer

Error: Connection reset by pear

Solution:
Check the TCP/IP adapter.
Restart the computer and try again
Try do manually login

Error: Time out accured while receiving data, Contact you LAN administrator or the Internet Provider.

Solution:
Try to shut down the computer and try again.
Try to Ping the address exp:http://yahoo.com or http://isp.tm.net.my

Error: Not Enough memory when launching browser

Solution:
Virtual memory could be disable, or other memory configuration errors.
Click the start button, go to setting and control panel, double click a system icon, click virtual memory, click "let windows manage my virtual memory setting" option.
If you use your own virtual memory you must allow as much space as possible for the maximum

Error: General protection fault/illegal operation

Solution:
try restart computer and try again
try reinstall software .

LINE REPORT ERROR MESSAGE/SOLUTION

Error 629: You have been disconnected from the computer you are dialing

Solution
Other parallel phone(if yes,please disconnect)

Error 680: There is no dial tone.

Solution:
Using Telekom Line.

Solution:

Solution:
Check TCP/IP in control panel and Dial up networking

Error: Frequent disconnection.

Solution:
Check TCPIP in control panel and dial up networking
Reduce speed for receive and transmit buffer.

What is ISDN?

ISDN is a digital telephone, fax and PC communication service that offers two major benefits over normal analogue lines, instead of one analogue line, it provides at least two digital lines over a normal copper wire and, because it is a digital service, both lines can transmit data at 64Kbps.

With ISDN, customers can continue to mak normal telephone and fax calls as they add fast Internet access, Intranet, email, video conferencing and LAN communications to their business

ISDN was introduced in Malaysia by 1993 based on the European ETSI standards. By using the ETSI standards TM increased the availability of ISDN throughout Malaysia nationwide and makes TM's ISDN network compatible with the latest advances in ISDN hardware Worlwide.

ISDN services come in two types:(1) Basic Rate Interface with 2virtual digital lines, and (2) Primary Rate Interface with 30 digital lines.

TM ISDN's BRI new tariff was introduced to non-business services - offer to smaller businesses and individual usesrs in an economical way the benefits of ISDN desktop PC solutions, small phone systems, LAN interconnections, remote access to networks and video-conferencing. The tariff was reduced in such a way to give convenient and affordable for non-business (refer new tariff).

TM's ISDN PRI services available in increments of 30 digital lines are perfect for customers wanting to connect PABXs or trnasmit and receive data at speed of from 64Kbps to 2 Mbps or combinations of the two.

How can I use ISDN or what kind of application supported by ISDN?

ISDN can be used for voice applications, data applications, video and image transfer applications including - Telephony: ISDN provides clear high quality telephone connections. ISDN also can offer some additional call and messaging features compared to analogue services.

Data transfer: Sending files (spreadsheets and images) from one computer to another.

Videoconferencing: Live, fill colour, two way real time video, audio and data communication. Video conferencing equipment ranges in size from desktop systems to large room/studio (boardroom) system.

Internet access: Fast access to the information and resources available on the Internet and online services, with the confidence that you can still receive or make calls.

Telecommuting (SOHO): Range of ISDN functions, such as interconnected telephones, faxes and computers, high speed access to computer databases (corporate LANs and online services), email and the ability to dial upt other PCs and send information, enables people to work remotely, whether in a regional office, in the field or at home.

If I subscribe ISDN, what are the benefits of ISDN compared to others?

Can I have ISDN connected or any limitation of distance?

As long as ISDN has been installed at your local exchange and provide your premise is less than 4km distance from the local exchange you can have the ISDN service connected. *This distance depends on the cable used and can be much more in some locations

What will TM provide?

TM will insrall an ISDN socket, known as the Network Terminating Unit (NT) in your premise. The NT is a small plastic box and it's depends on the 5 type od switches (-Ericsson, Alcatel, NEC, Fujitsu and Nokia) that acts as the end point of the ISDN service. Your equipment will either plug straignt int othe NT or be connected by S-Bus cabling. The NT remains the property of TM and is removed when the service is cancelled.

How many telephone numbers will I get?

For a standard TMISDN allowed up to max 3 numbers using MSN features (Multiple Subscriber Number) for assigning to one BRI. Make sure you tick in the MSN box during your application. MSN features will work if CPE used can support the MSN features. PLease confirm with your vendor

Will I be able to receive faxes while I am using the telephone or accessing Internet?

Yes, because ISDN has two line funtionality and from three numbers (for MSN users), you can have up to eight separate pieces of equipment connected to your service - all with three different numbers - of which you can use any two at the same time. So long as you fax machine has a different number, you can send or receive a fax while talking on the telephone or surfing the internet.

Can non-ISDN phone (handphone, analog phone etc) call to my ISDN numbers?

Yes because ISDN has inter-operability to non-ISDN switches

MODEM ERROR MESSAGE/SOLUTION

Error: Modem has been used by another dial up networking connection:

Solution
Check modem,try to delete the unused modem
Close the other application that's uses the modem before connecting to TMnet
Refer to the vendor or computer shop

Error: The modem is not responding properly. Please verify that the modem is plugged into the computer and to the telephone line.

Solution:
Check TCPIP in control panel and dial up networking
Manual dial 1515 hear modem tone
Check the modem configuration in control panel
If still cannot, try refer to the vendor (if using internal modem)

Error: No carrier.

Solution:
Try reinstall modem
Using another Modem or refer to your vendor

Error: Hanging up modem(When dial using manual log in got a lot of bug or garbage)

Solution:
Shut down computer and modem for a while and try connect again.
Try to use an External modem if using Internal modem

Error: Unable to initialize modem

Solution:
Change drivers. Try to use the different drivers.
Try different modem,go to control panel, modem.
Switch OFF and ON the modem again
Check comm. Port and try to used different communication port

Error: Modem disconnected after verifying user name and password

Solution:
Check the modem speed,set it to lower speed in dial up network.
Check the TCP/IP,check whether TCPIP have been install properly,If not reinstall again.
Check user name and password.

EMAIL ERROR MESSAGE/SOLUTION

Problem: Cannot Read mail

Solution
Check the mail configuration
Check email program
Remove TCPIP

Problem: Can't retrieve mail.

Solution:
Check the mail setting,check the user name(POP user name/POP3 account)
Check whether connected at the time of getting mail.
Check make sure mail in server not big.(not more than 2MB).

Error: There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'pop.tm.net.my', Server: 'pop.tm.net.my', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Authentication failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

Solution:
Please check password for email whether correct or not.

Error: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.tm.net.my', Server: 'pop.tm.net.my', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E.

Solution:
Check the mail setting, under account name please make sure put user name only not email address
Check make sure user name is correct

Error: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.tm.net.my', Server: 'mail.tm.net.my', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E.

Solution:
Check the mail setting .Outgoing mail smtp.tm.net.my.

Error: Your SMTP server has not responded in 30 seconds.Would you like to wait another 30 second for the server to respond?

Account :pop.tm.net.my
Server :smtp.tm.net.my .

Solution:
Check under server timeouts, increase to 5 minutes(outlook express).
Make sure size of mail is not large.

Problem: Can't send mail immediately.

Solution:
Check mail setting make sure immediate delivery(if using netscape).

Error: Unable to send e-mail, some of the recipient were rejected by your mail server.

Solution:
Make sure that the email address is correct
Check with administrator

Error: When I try to download my email, it downloads and then gets stuck on one mail. What is wrong?

Solution:

There is a large mail in your mailbox. If you wish, you can delete just a big mail by yourself.

For Macintosh user ,you need to find the 'telnet program' for Macintosh Version .

I have not been receiving any new email messages. What is wrong? When people send email to me, the mail bounces back to them with the message that my mailbox is full.

Solution :
Some email clients give you the ability to leave mail on server. This means that when mail is downloaded into your computer, it is not erased from the server. The size limit of your mailbox is 4Mb, and when it is full, it will not be able to receive any new messages until it is emptied. Check the email settings page for more information.
